For the love of smart phones, here is a PiPhone wherein you need to take up the responsibility of building it on your own. Sounds challenging? Have a look.
- Raspberry Pi Model B
- PiTFT Touchscreen 320×240
- 2500mAh LiPo battery
- SIM900 GSM module / GPRS module
- DC-DC boost converter 3.3V – 5V 1A
- Cables, connectors, switch
This happens to be very usefully DIY in its class. A smart phone sing the simplest of above mentioned ingredients is already a rage. Now lets turn ourselves into what his phone is actually made up of. The communications module ie. the Sim900 GSM/GPRS module allows the user to send receive messages, make calls using standard AT commands. There is a sim card slot which allows the user to place his/ her choice of sim card . The unit also has a DC_ DC converter built into it to convert the 3.7volts from the LiPoly battery to 5volts. Now with a power source in place come the main showstoppers, the Raspberry Pi board and a touch screen that receives inputs from the user using a simple interface.
