  • PiTFT Touchscreen 320×240
  • 2500mAh LiPo battery
  • SIM900 GSM module / GPRS module

The Make

This happens to be very usefully DIY in its class. A smart phone sing the simplest of above mentioned ingredients is already a rage. Now lets turn ourselves into what his phone is actually made up of. The communications module ie. the Sim900 GSM/GPRS module allows the user to send receive messages, make calls using standard AT commands. There is a sim card slot which allows the user to place his/ her choice of sim card . The unit also has a DC_ DC converter built into it to convert the 3.7volts from the LiPoly battery to 5volts. Now with a power source in place come the main showstoppers, the Raspberry Pi board and a touch screen that receives inputs from the user using a simple interface.

Daniel Hunt is the creator of this amazing DIY smart phone and he has made the software code is available at Github for download. For more DIY videos stay tuned or click HERE.
