Orange, a global IT and communications service provider announced the launch of IoT Continuum to accelerate the digital transformation of industrial markets in Europe and beyond. The company partners with equipment designer Sierra Wireless, electronic manufacturing services company Lacroix and chip manufacturer STMicroelectronics.
IoT Continuum is aimed to increase the confidence of business in deploying IoT ecosystem. The companies have planned to promote eSIM and 5G technologies to drive massive IoT. The partners have set up three-step process to support businesses’ IoT projects on cellular networks, from ideation to industrialisation. This is expected to improve project risk management and enable customers to join the process at any stage.
The joint effort aims to provide business and their verticals, components and solutions validated on the Orange network to deploy IoT services on cellular networks. The components and the design are said to be compatible with industrial deployment phase, without a need to redesign. The companies have planned to focus on reducing the complexity, development time and cost to realise IoT use.
“We joined forces and created the IoT Continuum to streamline the management of cellular IoT projects in Europe and beyond,” said the IoT Continuum partners in a press release.
