GE Link / Wink LED Light IoT Lightbulb Teardown

This is a teardown of the GE Link LED IoT(Internet of Things) / home automation light bulb that recently came out and is compatible with the Wink hub. The bulb is rated to be equivalent to a 60 Watt incandescent bulb and uses 12 Watts.

The wireless section of these LED lights contain a Marvel Technical Group 88MZ100 ZigBee SoC(System on Chip) Microcontroller which includes a 32 bit ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller.

These bulbs have a main power supply board which contains a Power Integrations LYT0005D LYTSwitch Off-Line Low Power LED Driver driver rated for 120ma and an NXP SSL21082AT high efficiency non-isolated LED driver C with an internal FET for compact dimmable LED lamps up to 15 Watts.
