Vodafone launches a range of Internet of Things (IoT) devices under the banner “V by Vodafone.” It is available to Vodafone customers in the UK and a handful of other European countries. The current range includes a car telematics dongle, pet tracker, bag tracker and connected camera. The range is expected to have new members joining in next year.
V-Auto is a little dongle that plugs into the OBD-II port of your car and starts collecting data. However, your vehicle should be manufactured in 2002 or later (since the port wasn’t a common feature until then). The dongle allows you to track your car remotely, and provides driver safety rating for each journey.
V-Camera is an Arlo Go camera with a Vodafone SIM in it, thus, no WiFi connectivity required. It has a rechargeable battery that lasts for one month for cordless operation, as well as motion and sound detection features.
