Fibocom announced to introduce its latest 5G AIoT innovations during Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2022.

The companies are looking towards 5G and AIoT to pave the way for new business opportunities. According to ABI Research, by 2025, revenue attributable to the combination of AI and 5G is projected to reach US$3.11 trillion.

Its FG160 is a 3GPP R16-compliant 5G module adopting LGA + LCC form factor. The module is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 5G modem, which comes with ultra-small size and abundant functionalities. It allows much flexibility and ease of integration for IoT deployment, providing excellent 5G network experience for mass data scenarios such as IIoT, C-V2X, HD live streaming, telemedicine, etc.

The other smart module SC171 has been designed with the Qualcomm QCM6490 chipset. It is said to integrate an Octa-core processor and vDSP, supporting multiple networks, GNSS positioning as well as rich interfaces. It is ideally suitable for high-end IoT applications including 5G DVR, smart POS, VR, IPC, UAV, etc.

The company’s recently launched 5G module FM160-EAU has been certified by ANATEL, the National Telecommunications Agency in Brazil. Complying with the 3GPP Release 16 (R16) standards, FM160-EAU is the first R16-compliant 5G module receiving this certification.

“FM160-EAU is a high-value 5G module providing better 5G network experience for mass data scenarios. Fibocom will continuously empower the digital transformation and bring wireless connectivity to a broader range,” Gene Santana, VP of Overseas Carriers Certification Dept., Fibocom said in another release.
