IoTForum, IESA and TiE Bangalore Bring Out IoTNext 2019

The 5th edition of IoTNext will be held on 2nd and 3rd December 2019 with the theme “IoT Matrix: Enchanted Reality and a Data-Driven Future’. IoTNext is the annual conference of IoTForum, India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and TiE Bangalore (The Indus Entrepreneurs), which raises the IoT Quotient of India #RaiseIoTQuotient.

Thought leadership initiatives

The IoTForum Think-Tank tracks 1500 startups in the Internet of Things (IoT) and engages them with mentors, corporates, partners, and investors and evangelizing IoT use cases and best practices. It also organises regular monthly meets on varied topics of interest for the growing community. The think tank leads thought leadership initiatives with corporates, startups, industry bodies and government. Some areas of effort include startups assistance schemes from government of Karnataka, IoT Spectrum advocacy, IoT platform workshops, IoT Security policy and active directory of startups in the Internet of Things.

‘Digital Twin’ and an ‘Enchanted Reality

The objective of the annual conference is to bring the entire Internet of Things (IoT) community together to debate and deliberate on the current developments on the ground. It also aims to share what to expect in near future, converse and consider the upcoming technologies and business trends, connect with global counterparts.

In IoTNext 2019, the focus will be on confluence of multiple technologies that are starting to merge together to create a world of immersive experience where data holds the key role. IoT is making the physical real and AR/VR is making the digital world accessible in the real world. This leads to the meeting with ‘Digital Twin’ and an ‘Enchanted Reality’. They are being fed by a huge amount of data which is getting analysed at the edge and on the cloud.

Showcase 800 IoT startups in Bangalore

The event aims to focus on celebration of start-ups. It showcased five years and the 800 IoT startups in Bangalore (over 1,500 in India). It also featured a small number of IoT startups as a sample of successful ones. They have funding of over Rs 550 crores and lakhs of deployed devices.

Another area of focus was on agriculture. It saw ITC , Bayer , NABARD , Omnivore, McKinsey leading on climate-safe IoT enabled agriculture. There was attention given to imagining an ambient intelligent environment where everything inter-operates and the goal of enchanted experiences become important.

The event also focussed on Edge Computing (AI/ML). Gartner estimates 75 per cent of enterprise data will be processed outside the on premise or cloud data centers. Industrial IoT was also an area of focus. Finally, the event had Usiru, which is a crowd sourced air pollution reduction solution.

IoTNext also picked and recognized quality startups. Award winners from past years join a fireside chat and share about how they were helped on the journey by engaging the ecosystem with IoTForum.
