XMOS unleashed its VocalFusion Stereo Dev Kit for Amazon AVS, that helps device makers to move voice control to the edges of the room by integrating the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) into slim profile and wall-mounted devices. It is designed for developers working on Alexa-enabled stereo electronics, including smart TVs, soundbars, set-top boxes, digital media adapters, kitchen equipment, and audio and visual equipment.
The kit helps developers to integrate Alexa seamlessly into edge-of-room devices so that it can respond from anywhere in the room. The kit provides the thin-form factor and high performance needed for these new device types.
Of note is the kit’s XVF3500 voice processor from Infineon, which delivers sophisticated voice digital signal processing that includes 2-channel full duplex acoustic echo cancellation (AEC). This allows commands to be accurately captured from across the room for processing by the Alexa Voice Service, even in complex, noisy acoustic environments.
The processor interfaces directly to four PDM microphones in a linear array with 33.33mm inter-mic spacing making it ideal for integration into flat screens and products found “at the edge of the room”.
This is the second XMOS kit for the Alexa Voice Service that is qualified by Amazon. The first kit was launched in October last year, the XMOS mono VocalFusion 4-Mic Development Kit for Amazon AVS.
The VocalFusion Stereo Kit for Amazon AVS (XK-VF3500-L33-AVS) is available to developers, OEMs, and ODMs from Digi-Key.
