A recent MoU signed between the two companies reveals scope for MindSphere developments in China Mainland market
The IoT operating system MindSphere by Siemens will be deployed on Alibaba Cloud. According to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies will leverage each other’s technology resources to foster the industrial IoT in China.
Terms of the MoU
MindSphere has been described as a cloud-based, open IoT operating system that delivers a wide range of device and enterprise connectivity options, analytics, and closed-loop innovation with digital twin solutions.
The implementation of MindSphere on Alibaba Cloud will provide services for companies in China Mainland to innovate with advanced industrial solutions. Under the signed MoU, both companies will begin collaborating immediately and intend to make MindSphere on Alibaba Cloud available in 2019.
The partnership intends to allow the companies to build an IoT solution to support Industrie 4.0, China’s manufacturing upgrade and transformation and other industrial internet initiatives. It can allow the customers to unlock the potential of the industrial IoT with the operating system’s availability on a cloud platform.
