Israeli-based SolarEdge also has a location in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. Some of the biggest grocery companies in the UK are among its clients. Jordan Appleson, the co-founder and CEO of the business, was recognised as one of Insider’s 42 Under 42 in 2019.
An Insider 42 under 42 alumnus who co-founded an internet of things (IoT) company is scheduled to be acquired by a major smart energy technology firm. Today, smart energy technology company SolarEdge Technologies revealed that it had signed a legally binding contract to buy out the whole share capital of Hark Systems Ltd.
Hark, a Leeds-based company founded in 2016, provides a software-as-a-service (SaaS) internet of things platform that enables businesses and asset managers to connect, analyse, and optimise the energy and industrial assets at their commercial sites.
With the addition of Hark, SolarEdge will be able to provide its commercial and industrial (C&I) clients with more advanced energy management and connectivity capabilities, including the ability to identify potential energy savings, spot anomalies in asset energy consumption, and optimise energy use and carbon emissions through load orchestration and storage control.
Jordan Appleson states “SolarEdge has revolutionized how solar energy is harvested and managed and has deployed millions of smart energy management systems globally.
“We are excited to be able to be a part of the SolarEdge offering and join their global infrastructure to assist enterprises in the C&I market to manage their energy in a more efficient and sustainable way.”
