Google Cloud and Bell Canada on Thursday announced partnership to power digital transformation, enhancing Bell’s network and IT infrastructure for customers across Canada.
In line with the partnership, Google will allow Bell to drive operational efficiencies, increase network automation through various initiatives like shifting critical workloads to cloud, unlocking multicloud solutions and using AI, data and analytics to assist with network capacity planning.
The companies also intend to bolster the arrangement throughout the next decade to develop new innovations on cloud and edge services. The two companies will look at new ways to expand Bell’s existing partnership with Google to evolve the network experience and introduction of next-generation services, reads a company statement.
Bell Canada plans to blend various resources and capabilities from multiple cloud providers into its 5G network infrastructure. The carrier had earlier said it will be the first Canadian operator with a 5G multi-access edge compute (MEC) service paired with Amazon Web Services (AWS) by the end of the year.
