DataDirect and CSIR-CEERI’s partnership is aiming to deliver Artificial Intelligence as a Service (AIaaS) for the latter’s customers from 2019
US-based technology firm, DataDirect Networks has announced about its new collaboration with Council of Scientific Industrial Research – Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI), a Research and development entity focused on electronics industry of India. The objective of this partnership is to design, test, execute computation and storage solutions that will enable artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) workloads.
The collaboration aims to provide a complete infrastructure solution that can deliver Artificial Intelligence as a Service (AIaaS) for the CSIR-CEERI customers. Professor Santanu Chaudhury, Director, CSIR-CEERI said, “With our mission to collaborate with industry for innovative product development, we are pleased to align with storage industry leader DDN to offer a combined AI computing and fast data storage environment to researchers and the AI developer community in India.”
Advanced AI, ML, DL
The two firms plan to provide advanced artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning solutions and work jointly on research, solution blueprints, AI and DL intellectual properties related to accelerating performance through data accessibility to computation clusters.

The technology solutions will be developed, tested and hosted at the CSIR-CEERI computing facility. The new Artificial Intelligence as a Service solutions are expected to become available in India starting January 2019.
