As per a report by CRN, Ingram Micro has launched its IoT Centre of Excellence. The company said that in this centre, it will showcase ideas geared to help partners start and grow an IoT practice built on multi-vendor technologies.
The report said that Sabine Howest, vice president of global partner engagement and IoT with 10 years at Ingram Micro will be in charge of the division. She has worked with some of the company’s largest vendors. She said that she has seen the potential of IoT in combining some of those vendors’ products into a single solution.
Solutions and vendors in the IoT space
This centre of excellence in Irvine, California will remain shut for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The report said that Paul Bay, executive vice president and president of Global Technology Solutions at Ingram Micro said that when the centre opens, partners will see the top products, solutions and vendors in the IoT space.
Bay said in a statement, “The introduction of a Global Center of Excellence will smooth and accelerate the road-to-market for our channel partners and manufacturers specializing in IoT, and pave the way for us to share best practices, new market applications, and resources globally. Under Sabine’s leadership, Ingram Micro’s IoT business will scale and further specialize—adding increased and sustainable business value to our partners and manufacturers by helping them extend their expertise, share their experience, and meet the varied demands of the market locally, regionally and globally.”
