For AI acceleration in India, Ericsson has already hired 150 engineers in Bengaluru and aims to hire more
Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson is planning to increase its investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India, Sweden, and the US in order to enhance its managed service business.
As reported by ET, the company is also aggressively hiring engineers and other professionals globally to accelerate its Artificial Intelligence and automation efforts.
For AI acceleration in India, Ericsson has already hired 150 engineers in Bengaluru and aims to hire more.
“India is a great hub for us. We would like to attract more talent in AI, automation and data science…we want to attract the best of the best in India. So, it will be a forward-leaning Ericsson in universities and other places to really attract the best,” Peter Laurin, Head of Managed Services at Ericsson, was quoted as saying.
Taking India specific innovations to global markets
In addition, the company aims to push India specific innovations to other global markets.
“India is a great R&D hub for us, both in development and putting it into the field. It could have that we say that we develop in India and we deploy it in the US,” he told ET.
Ericsson is also putting efforts to upskill its existing engineers in the managed service business to handle address demands coming from telcos.
