According to a recent article by ET, TCS has filed a patent for developing the drone software in India. The software will enable unmanned vehicles to provide services to customers through other drones or ground-based robotic vehicles. 

Experts told ET that the bots could be an aerial vehicle (drone) or a ground-based robotic vehicle capable of working in hazardous conditions. They could be used to either update software on a secure network or fix a flaw robotically and will be operated remotely.

The company has also set up a drone research lab in Cincinnati, US, which applies advanced computer vision, machine learning and deep learning algorithms to process the images captured by drones, reported ET.

According to a report by ResearchandMarkets.com, The global drone services market is expected to reach $92.52 billion by 2026, growing at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate of 53.8 per cent.

India’s science and technology ministry has also announced an INR 1000 Cr project to digitally map the country with a resolution of 10 cm, using drones and technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data.
