STPI Soft Launches IoT OpenLab In Bengaluru

Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has soft-launched the ‘IoT OpenLab’-Centre of Excellence (CoE) in IoT in Bengaluru in association with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). STPI will also open 21 more CoEs in the field of emerging technologies in the next two years.

Out of the 21 CoEs to be established, 3 are already working. They are the Electropreneur Park in Delhi, FinBlue in Chennai and Neuron in Mohali. The IoT OpenLab will focus on creating an ecosystem that will nurture start-ups, push R&D, innovation and product development in sectors like defence, aeronautics, agriculture, health, automobile and education.

Physical and virtual incubation start-ups

The lab will also offer services to physical and virtual incubation start-ups. The start-ups can apply under two models namely the Complete Package (CP) model and Associate Membership (AM) model.

The CoE will be supported by India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and TiE as industry association partners. PES Institute of Technology and the RV College of Engineering will be academic partners. Cyber Media and Forum Synergy will provide funding access.

Industry partnerships

The lab has been linked with many industry partnerships like includes Intel, NXP, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, STM, TE Connectivity, Onsemi, Kyocera, Analog Devices, Silicon Labs, Molex, Vishay, Microchip and Infineon.
