Mouser Electronics has entered into a global distribution agreement with Sony Electronics to distribute Spresense development boards for edge computing solutions. As a part of the agreement, Mouser will offer Spresense development boards that will enable designers to quickly create solutions for areas like logistics, AI, robotics, audio, and IoT.

High-performance drones, time-lapse cameras, and smart speakers

The Spresense Main Board is based on the multicore CXD5602 microcontroller with GPS functionality by Sony. It is Arduino-compatible and can be used both as a standalone device or with an extension board. The Main Board supports applications like high-performance drones, time-lapse cameras, and smart speakers. The extension board also offers hardware connectivity to the Main Board including Arduino Uno-compatible headers, a micro-SD card slot, USB port, and 3.5‑mm headphone jack.

5MP camera

The Spresense Camera Board extends the functionality of the Main Board. It comes with a 5MP camera. It uses the ISX012 Image Sensor by Sony, and its onboard encoder supports JPEG, RAW, Y/C, and RGB formats. It can also be combined with the AI capabilities of the Main Board.
