The IoT Community will provide members access to CertNexus’ certifications and micro-credential through virtual classes, digital books and virtual labs.

CertNexus – a global provider of certifications for IT, business, and security professionals– has formed a partnership with the Internet of Things Community (IoT Community) to address the rapidly expanding Internet of Things (IoT) skills gap.

The two organizations have reached an agreement for offering workshops and other training solutions to the Certified Internet of Things Practitioner (CIoTP) – the world’s only ANSI/ISO 17204 accredited IoT Certification.

As per the terms of the deal, the IoT Community will provide members access to CertNexus’ certifications and micro-credential through virtual classes, digital books and virtual labs, and sit for CertNexus exams. Additionally, CPE credits will be assigned to IoT SLAM and Master Class events to continue the certification maintenance.

Nancy Shemwell, Chief Operating Officer, IoT Community said that offering CIoTP is a key development in the Community’s value chain.

“Corporations now have access to develop and validate the necessary skills to successfully implement and secure IoT solutions,” she added.

CertNexus President Jeff Felice commented, “Partnering with The IoT Community to offer CertNexus training and certifications helps us to accelerate the value we can bring to IoT professionals and the businesses they represent.”

IoT to become a $450 billion industry

According to a report by Inmarstat, 76 percent of companies surveyed require additional senior, strategic-level staff with skills in IoT, and 80 percent do not possess the IoT skills required to ensure their current IoT solutions will work as intended.

According to Bain and Company, the IoT industry is on its way to becoming a $450 billion industry, and organizations will require investments in training and validating skills in order to succeed in this rapidly growing environment.

The IoT Community is the world’s largest CxO community of senior business leaders and IoT practitioners consisting of more than 24,000 members. It focuses on adoption and application of IoT in commercial environments.
