According to a report by the Economic Times, India and Russia are exploring the possibility of joint development of IT and related products for third country exports. The report said that such a discussion took place when Ajay Sawhney, secretary, the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) recently visited Moscow. The two countries discussed joining hands in digital technology, AI, blockchain, machine learning, 5G, and cybersecurity.
The report said that Sawhney met Mikhail Mamonov, deputy minister of digital development, communications and mass media of the Russian Federation. The report added that the two countries go well with each other in joint production of IT products.
India as a partner in developing new products
Russia comes with expertise in pure science and engineering while India has young talents and a business ecosystem with access to global market. Sawhney stressed on the fact that India and Russia have to join hands to address the new challenges of the market. He added that Russia should see India as a partner in developing new products and not just as a market. He also invited Russian companies to India and with the promise of all types of support.
