According to a report, Tech service provider Cognizant acquires Microsoft Cloud partner company ‘New Signature’ to accelerate business transformation. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2020 without any disclosure of the financial details.
New Signature is a Microsoft public cloud transformation service provider. According to Cognizant, this acquisition would expand company’s hyper scale plus advisory services. This will in turn help in in building up a dedicated group within Cognizant centred on Microsoft Cloud solutions. Over 500 of New Signature’s employees based in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, would join Cognizant’s newly formed ‘Microsoft Business Group’ upon the close of the acquisition.
“The pace of cloud adoption continue to accelerate carps industries, with Microsoft’s cloud solutions among the preferred technologies to help transform and strengthen business,” said Greg Hyttenrauch, President, Cognizant Digital Systems and Technology. He also added that acquiring New Signature would enrich the cloud-first capabilities and complement their increasing strengths as a Microsoft partner.
Innovation and progress
It has also been reported that New Signature will be Cognizant’s fifth cloud-related acquisition in 2020. Cloud has become a focus and continued investment for Cognizant.
