Deloitte Consulting LLP and Amazon Web Services (AWS) on 25th April 2018, declared plans to partner for Internet of Things (IoT) analytics solutions focused on tracking an organization’s most important assets. According to the joint press release, these alternatives can help clients reduce supply chain complexity, costs and potential risks by using AWS technologies to analyse large amounts of asset location data. On top of that, the solutions will utilize public application programming cadre that can alert clients to other conditions that may impact assets as they undertake the source chain, such as weather, recall history and even sales tax jurisdictions.

The collaboration between the two will have sharing of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), AWS Lambda, AWS IoT, AWS IoT Device Management, AWS IoT Analytics, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon Quicksight services. It would be accompanied by comprehensive and secure solution to analyse this data. On Deloitte’s part they would be contributing with IoT accelerator, which combines hardware, software, stats, security, insights, and strategy services to help achieve a lower-cost, lower-risk method of developing an asset tracking and analytics solution.

Data collection and analysis

The major challenge faced in managing distributed assets is managing the data. This collaboration will now be able to help clients reduce supply chain complexity, cost, and potential risk by enabling data collection and analysis on a worldwide scale.

Deloitte and AWS formalized a tactical relationship since 2016, which was concentrated on helping clients transform their business through the use of AWS’ cloud technology. Deloitte is Consulting partner in the AWS partner network and is a launch APN Partner for AWS IoT Analytics.
