Gartner’s RPA Magic Quadrant evaluation was based on UiPath Enterprise RPA platform version 2018.3.1 and UiPath Go!
Romanian tech unicorn UiPath has been positioned by Gartner as a Leader in the 2019 “Magic Quadrant for Robotic Process Automation Software” research report.
The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software company was placed highest and furthest for its ability to execute and completeness of vision in the Leaders quadrant. UiPath was one of the 18 vendors evaluated in the first year of this report.
UiPath was founded in Bucharest by Romanian entrepreneurs Daniel Dines and Marius Tîrcă. The company, which is now based in New York, specializes in the development of software robots that automate repetitive processes in companies.
Gartner pointed that as organizations look for ways to improve operational efficiency and integrate legacy systems with new enterprise applications and digital business, robotic process automation continues to grow its footprint.
UiPath co-founder and CEO, Daniel Dines, further added to this point, saying “There is real recognition that businesses are investing in RPA to augment and support their workforces with software robots, rapidly accelerating the digital transformation of their entire business, and freeing employees to spend time on more impactful work.”

Gartner’s evaluation criteria for completeness of vision includes market understanding, marketing strategy, sales strategy, offering (product) strategy, business model, vertical/industry strategy, innovation and geographic strategy.
Its criteria for a vendor’s ability to execute includes evaluating the product or service, overall viability, sales execution/pricing, market responsiveness/record, marketing execution, customer experience and operations.
