Nokia has signed a contract with Telecom Argentina to offer IoT services to its enterprise customers in the country and across Latin America. This will be done using Nokia Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING).
This agreement comes when Telecom Argentina is preparing itself to offer a scalable onboarding process for all its IoT customers. It is the first in Argentina to deliver enterprise IoT as a managed service through Nokia’s WING infrastructure.
GSMA states that the number of IoT connections will reach 25 billion connections worldwide until 2025. It also says that Latin American IoT revenue is expected to grow and be worth over $47 billion in the same year.
Device management functionality
Fernando Freytes, IoT manager, Telecom Argentina, said, “We are expanding our capability to offer end-to-end solutions to our enterprise customers and solve their IoT-related needs with faster time to market. Nokia WING is helping us tap the expected growth of the IoT business in Argentina. With this new technology, we expect to reinforce our leadership with focus on IoT end-to-end, providing not only connectivity but all it is needed to help our customers to maximize the potential of IoT.”
Nokia’s WING technology will provide Telecom Argentina’s customers with strategic opportunities that will help in the implementation of solutions to different industry verticals that require IoT services in Argentina. Nokia’s IMPACT platform will provide device management functionality as part of the WING solution.
