- It will enable Vodafone Idea to enhance their pre-5G Massive MIMO network
Huawei, the global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices has announced the first in India deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) optimization technology in the Vodafone Idea network. The company made this announcement at the inaugural session of the India Mobile Congress 2019.
About Massive MIMO optimization technology
Massive MIMO leverages 5G technologies in the 4G network. The solution uses a random forest algorithm for modelling and prediction, collecting and analyzing data to optimize MIMO performance. This deployment will enable Vodafone Idea to add automation capabilities to its network. It will also improve optimization efficiency, boost cell capacity and enhance end-user experience of the network.
“We are delighted to partner with Vodafone Idea Limited in making them ready for the 5G-led future. The deployed solution will enable Vodafone Idea to enhance their pre-5G Massive MIMO network,” Jay Chen, CEO, Huawei India.
“We are consistently deploying futuristic, next generation technologies to enhance the capacity and efficiency of our network. Adding AI capabilities for enhancing user experience is a further testament of our commitment to create a future-proof network for the digital era,” said Vishant Vora, Chief Technology Officer, Vodafone Idea Ltd.
Huawei’s MIMO AI products and solutions help operators maximize the utilization of their existing sites and spectrum resources, and improve their wireless network capacity and user experience, company’s official statement read.
