Through this partnership with Hanwha, WIN aims to strengthen its industrial automation plan.
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN)’s Automation Business unit has signed an MoU with Korea-based Hanwha Robotics to develop Cobots business in India.
As part of the agreement, the companies would also explore synergies in research & development and market intelligence to further improve Cobot technology, WIN said in a press release.
Hanwha entered the collaborative robot (Cobot) market in 2017 and officially launched its first Cobot HCR-5 at Automation World 2017. The robot weighs only 20kg and can be easily moved without a forklift or any other special transporting equipment. The company claims that HCR reduces the operating cost to about 30 percent less than with other industrial robots.
“Robust and affordable Cobots like Hanwha help companies to automate the unsafe, mundane and routine process. Cobots are becoming the preferred platform for automation. Hanwha with its track record in high precision machinery, motion control, and software technology is an ideal partner in Cobots,” said Pratik Kumar, CEO, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering.
WIN betting big on industrial automation segment
WIN is aiming to achieve $100 million in next five years in industrial automation revenue.
Through this partnership with Hanwha, WIN aims to strengthen its industrial automation plan.
