Spending on Smart City Technology Likely to Grow to $135 Billion by 2021: IDC

Future Cities Show focuses on five leading future city solutions, namely AI, blockchain, smart infrastructure, smart mobility and sustainability.

Smart cities will deploy a network of interactive sensors to achieve efficiency and innovation, says a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC).

It also estimates that spending on smart city technology will grow to $135 billion by 2021.

The report was released in conjunction with the Future Cities Show, which concluded on April 10 in Dubai. The show was conducted in conjunction with the Annual Investment Meeting under the theme ‘Propelling Globalization through Digital Transformation’.

This year, the show hosted several public, private and individual entities that displayed innovative technologies at the show. Some of the key participants were Exelen, Stallion AI, Finesse FZ LLC, Keo International and Taiger Singapore.

Key exhibitors at the show

Also present at the event was Finesse FZ LLC – a global system integration company. It exhibited Qlikr, an end-to-end data management and analytics platform.
