Turnkey IoT solutions provider UROS Group is partnering with Tata Communications to deploy IoT and Smart City solutions across large commercial and public sector organisations globally.

Jerry Raatikainen, CEO, UROS, said that the collaboration’s target is to cater to millions of users worldwide with its IoT platform. He added that Tata would be one of its key partners in achieving the target.

Partnership goal

Through this partnership, the companies will be powering IoT-enabled devices and services in smart connectivity, smart cities and many more. The aim is to boost the companies’ latest technologies and resources.

UROS will use the Tata Communications bootstrap eSIM and physical SIM capability, which, in turn, will enable UROS to boost deployment of new IoT devices for its customers. It will also reduce roaming costs and simplify connectivity management in the process.

The company’s CEO opined that by partnering with Tata Communications, they can further reinforce high-quality and reliable user experience to customers throughout their digital transformation journey.

IoT and smart city market

As per an Equity Bulls report, the collaboration is focusing on the exponentially growing IoT and Smart City market. The connected IoT devices is estimated to reach 20.4 billion by 2020 and the overall market value for smart cities globally is predicted to surpass $2 trillion by 2025, according to the report.

Anthony Bartolo, Chief Product Officer, Tata Communications, said that the company wants to create a world of truly global, borderless connectivity, where anything can be connected.

“There are huge opportunities for organisations across sectors to transform how they operate and serve their customers through new, always-connected services and applications. We look forward to leveraging our relationships with more than 600 mobile network operators worldwide to help UROS’ customers innovate and accelerate their growth through IoT,” he was quoted.

Tata Communications’ global network connects 4 out of 5 mobile subscribers and carries around 30 per cent of the world’s Internet routes.
