Security-tech company Cybereason has announced its decision to collaborate with Arm in securing billions of Internet of Things (IoT) devices across sectors, including in the utility and energy, transportation and logistics, and connected buildings industries.

Cambridge, U.K.-based Arm, the dominant developer of computer chip architecture, was acquired by SoftBank in 2016.

Supported by SoftBank, the two companies are delivering compelling solutions and leading the charge in providing device-to-data security for IoT. The companies plan to protect one trillion connected devices by 2035.

Cybereason is layering protection, detection, and response into the Arm Pelion IoT Platform, which delivers end-to-end IoT connectivity, device and data management that enables organisations to unlock value from their IoT devices and data.

Cybereason will provide AI Threat Hunting and advanced behavioural analytics, in real-time, on IoT devices managed by the Arm Pelion IoT Platform at scale potentially with billions of devices.

Dipesh Patel, president, IoT Services Group, Arm, noted that the exponential growth and complexity of IoT devices has opened an entirely new attack surface for adversaries.

Patel elaborated that the partnership with Cybereason combined with the Pelion Device Management service will provide customers essential visibility into the communication patterns, behaviors, and activities of IoT-connected devices, enabling them to stop malicious activity at its inception.  

Highlighting their goal of securing the connected world, Lior Div, co-founder and CEO, Cybereason, sais that working with Arm accelerates their ability to transform their vision into reality.
