The resulting combination and synergy are expected to generate a differentiating global value proposal for the customers of both the companies
Kerlink, a leading global provider of end-to-end network solutions for Internet of Things (IoT), announced that it has acquired a majority stake of 51 per cent in Wyres, a France-based firm specialised in indoor geolocation technology.
This move is part of the company’s recently announced and revised roadmap for 2019-20. This is also consistent with the company’s strategy to consolidate its technological edge for market growth.
However, the company did not disclose the transaction amount and other details.
Commenting on the development, Robert Clapham, Deputy CEO, Kerlink, said, “Wyres’ leadership in indoor geolocation technologies, including LoRa-based solutions, has positioned it as a leading reference supplier for the digitalisation of the enterprises’ operations and physical flows.”
Benefits to customers
“As a LoRaWAN industry market leader, Kerlink was already offering a performant outdoor geolocation solution. The resulting combination and synergy will generate a differentiating global value proposal for our customers and bring them tremendous benefits in deploying seamless geolocation solutions in priority markets, such as airports, smart cities, asset tracking and manufacturing,” he added.
Founded in 2015, Wyres is known for its expertise in designing and providing robust and performant indoor geolocation systems, by utilising its multi-technology radio skills such as BLE, LoRa, ultrasound and ultrawide-band. Currently, its portfolio includes providing complete solutions including beacons, tags, an indoor geolocation solver and business applications.
The major clients of Wyres are from public services, multi-site industries and private companies in various market segments including manufacturing, logistics, agriculture and hospital services.
