HPE’s Geneva lab offers a collaborative atmosphere for conceptualising, developing and testing advanced IoT and edge-to-cloud solutions
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), a leading global company providing IT, technology and enterprise products, services and solutions, has opened a new Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation Lab in Geneva, Switzerland. The aim of this lab is to help customers in leveraging the huge amount of data created outside of data centres by machines, devices, sensors and assets at the edge.
The latest lab in Geneva is the third such facility of HPE. Last year, the company opened its Asia-Pacific lab in Singapore. It already has an innovation lab in the US.
The Geneva lab offers a collaborative atmosphere for conceptualising, developing and testing advanced IoT and edge-to-cloud solutions that drive business results such as revenue growth, operational efficiency, safety and longer-term competitive advantage.
Commenting on the development, Dr. Tom Bradicich, Vice President and General Manager, Converged Servers, Edge and IoT Systems, HPE, said, “Collaborative innovation is at the heart of our IoT Innovation Labs, with the goal to deliver material business outcomes. These are not only places to demonstrate or test solutions – they are places to provoke thinking about the possibilities, and then come together to build and deploy the next generation of IoT and intelligent edge solutions.”
Huge opportunity for customers
Volkhard Bregulla, Vice President – Global Manufacturing, Automotive and IoT, HPE, said, “The exponential data growth at the edge holds a huge opportunity for advancing our economies and societies. However, organisations currently only capitalise on a fraction of that data. Realising this opportunity requires a complex transformation involving technology, people and economics. Our IoT Innovation Labs are a key tool to initiate, shape and accelerate each customer’s unique IoT journey.”
The IoT Innovation Lab in Geneva provides hands-on environment and practical examples where clients and partners can explore the business values of HPE and the comprehensive enterprise IoT portfolio of its partners.
This comprises immersive Edge Experience Zones that allow clients to digitally connect with ‘things’ in natural settings, containing practical IoT use cases for industries like manufacturing, oil and gas, engineering, retail, healthcare and smart city, among others.
