The Intel Vision Products’ integration into Honeywell MAXPRO VMS and NVR products will result in solutions that improve operator productivity and site security

Honeywell announced that it has incorporated Intel Vision products to enable artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to its video security and surveillance. The company announced the technology integration with Intel that will allow latest AI capabilities in its MAXPRO connected security platform.

The latest security platform that will support MAXPRO Video Management Systems (VMS) and Network Video Recorders (NVR), will integrate Intel Vision products that add deep learning, advanced analytics and facial recognition capabilities.

Time and cost savings

These newly improved security solutions will lead to time and cost savings by considerably cutting down false alarms and will meet compliance needs like General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by way of identity anonymisation.

The Intel Vision Products’ integration into Honeywell MAXPRO VMS and NVR products will result in solutions that improve operator productivity and site security. These customisable, integrated products will augment the processing time of every video stream and enhance number of cameras that can stream in real time via single device.

With the adoption of Intel Vision Accelerator Design products, Honeywell’s security offerings will get cutting edge AI capabilities with computational efficiency, enabling them to analyse video data with enhnaced detection accuracy.

Opening new opportunities

Commenting on the development, Pete Lau, President, Commercial Security, Honeywell, said, “Ensuring the security of commercial buildings and the safety of those within them has always been Honeywell’s top priority. With emerging technology like analytics, facial recognition and deep learning, Honeywell and Intel are connecting buildings and protecting people like never before.”

Jonathan Ballon, Vice President, Intel Internet of Things Group, said, “With rapid advances in AI technology fueled by the influx of enormous amounts of visual data, our customers are presented with powerful new opportunities in multiple areas including edge video analytics and security.”

“The Honeywell MAXPRO solution, powered by Intel Vision Products, allows customers to process and analyse visual data in near real-time to make decisions faster, drive faster time to results and help ensure secure buildings, campus environments and banking institutions,” he added.
