China’s TCL Electronics to Launch Smart Home Appliances in India

TCL is focusing to further strengthen its presence in India by launching intelligent and cutting-edge home appliances

Global TV brand and a leading consumer electronics company, TCL Electronics said announced that it is launching a new range of smart home appliances such as air conditioner (AC), refrigerator, washing machine and sound bar, in India.

The latest products will also include UHD Android TV that is powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

China-based TCL, already an established name in TV and home entertainment segment, is focusing to further strengthen its presence in India by launching intelligent and cutting-edge home appliances.

Commenting on the development, Mike Chen, Country Manager, TCL India, said, “India is home to a growing number of tech-savvy and digital users that demand more from the products that they use. Driven to make life intelligent through our products ranges, we are going to launch a range of innovative and affordable home appliances for our Indian consumers.”

India-first approach

Chen further said, “At TCL, it has been our endeavour to follow an India-first approach, as reflected in our brand promotion strategy or the launch of our first-ever factory plant in India. We are affirmative that our latest range of products will resonate with the mature sensibilities of Indian users, providing them with smart home appliances that easily integrate the latest advancements in the field of AI, Internet of Things (IoT), amongst others.”

Due to its deep understanding of Indian consumers, TCL has incorporated AI-enabled Google Assistant in its portfolio of products. The company, as part of its recent focus, would be leveraging its competitive advantages in major areas such as Quantum Dot display material and technology, OLED printing technology, and IoT and AI in the home appliances division in order to make everyday life smart in India.

In December 2018, the company inaugurated its panel factory at Tirupati, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This marks the brand’s first manufacturing plant outside of China.
