Avnet Launches New Development Board for IoT, AI Applications

Avnet’s Ultra96-V2 development board has new features including a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth radio module from Microchip that is Agency Certified in over 75 countries

Avnet, a leading global provider of technology solutions, has launched the new Ultra96-V2 development board that is specifically designed to power industrial-grade Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

The new development board is equipped with an updated radio module that allows engineers to expand their reach into new markets. The new offering will serve as an ideal platform for smart home, industrial controls, automotive and several other applications.

The Ultra96-V2 is an ARM-based, Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC development board that is created on Linaro 96Boards Consumer Edition (CE) specification. The new development board enhances the 96Boards community capabilities with a wide variety of peripherals and acceleration engines in the programmable logic that are not available from other offerings.

The 96Boards is a range of hardware specifications developed by Linaro in order to make available to developers the latest ARM-based processors at a reasonable cost. These can be used by developers for software applications, kernel, hardware devices and other systems.

Allows engineers to extend their reach

Avnet’s Ultra96-V2 has new features including a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth radio module from Microchip that is Agency Certified in over 75 countries, enabling the engineers to extend the reach of their innovations in global market. In addition, the new development board is available with wireless options including 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 Low Energy (BLE) support.

The Ultra96-V2 is also upgraded with all the components to provide industrial temperature grade options so that it can operate in harsh industrial applications.
