Okinawa Scooters Gets Support of Aeris Mobility IoT Platform

Okinawa’s two flagship models – Ridge+ & i-Praise, are now connected scooters with the support provided by Aeris connected technology

Aeris, a global Internet of Things (IoT) technology partner for enterprises, announced that it is offering Aeris Mobility IoT Platform to Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturing company Okinawa Scooters.

Okinawa manufactures high-speed electric vehicles (EVs) using state-of-the-art technology and focuses on the security and safety features for the consumer segment. Aeris enables Okinawa to offer an integrated solution with insights on Alerts, Trips, Driver Behaviour, Secure Park, Find My Scooter and SOS.

The customers of Okinawa Scooters can also remotely immobilise the vehicle in the case of theft. Asset safety and productivity of rider helps the enterprises in getting more out their assets. The solution can be accessed on mobile app by customers and on web by enterprises.

Speaking at the announcement, Dr. Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar, President, Aeris India, said, “Keeping in line with India’s vision for 100 per cent electric vehicles by 2030, Aeris, India started investing in the Aeris Mobility Platform (AMP) for the electric vehicle segment, last year.”

“It gives me immense pleasure to announce that the fruits of our investments are now realised with the commencement of our engagement with Okinawa. We are enabling the Indian electric vehicle OEMs to become future ready with our globally proven AMP offering,” he added.

Keeping ahead of the curve

Jeetender Sharma, MD, Okinawa Scooters, said, “As we move into the IoT world, such vehicles which have artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) incorporated within their functional mechanism are required to keep the user ahead of the curve.”

Sharma further said, “Vehicles would need to be equipped to engage easily with devices such as smartphones and laptops and have in-built mechanisms such as geo-fencing or remote ignition control to provide complete security. Such vehicles will also contribute in reducing the burden of the government on dedicated security allocation and can act as a foot soldier for the rider themselves.”
