IBM has launched AI-powered monitoring solution called Maximo Asset Monitor that the aims to help maintenance and operations leaders understand and improve the performance of their high-value physical assets. The company says the solution will help to get essential insights with AI-powered anomaly detection and provide enterprise-wide visibility into critical equipment performance. Due to this, problem identification will be faster that will help to take better decisions and reduce downtime as per IBM.

Kareem Yusuf, general manager, IBM IoT, said, “With the launch of the new Maximo Asset Monitor solution, IBM is helping organizations better understand their data and automate workflows with preventative, predictive and prescriptive maintenance actions to help extend asset life and improve operations. According to International Data Corporation (IDC) , monitoring performance and scheduling repairs with predictive maintenance can reduce maintenance costs by 15-20 per cent, improve asset availability by 20 per cent, and extend the lives of machines by years.”

Scalable, remote monitoring and support service

IBM says with Maximo Asset Monitor, organizations can aggregate data from across the enterprise and combine it with advanced predictive analytics and AI to identify operational patterns. Industrial technology and engineering services firm, Novate Solutions has collaborated with IBM to develop a scalable, remote monitoring and support service for industrial manufacturers. The application of IBM Maximo Asset Monitor enabled by AI and analytics leveraged existing infrastructure collected from supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to detect anomalies to predict system failures.
