Provided with an optical zoom of 16x, the new 4MP Network IR PTZ camera comes up with an automatic wiper to ensure better image quality even on rainy days
Hikvision, a leading global supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, announced the launch of its new 4MP Network IR PTZ Camera that comes with higher resolution for more clarity in the dark places.
The new camera, integrated with DarkFighterX technology, is suitable for exterior dimly-lit environments that require 24/7 full-colour footage, such as streets, railways, ports, roads, parks, squares, rivers and forests, the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the development, Peter Guan, EU Channel Sales and Marketing Manager at Hikvision, said, “We know that night time surveillance can be a real challenge for security professionals, especially in large outside areas. We have further developed our DarkFighterX series to include a more powerful camera to support them in their ‘fight against the darkness’.”
Advanced features and functions
The latest Hikvision’s camera is equipped with 1/1.8” sensors to increase the resolution to 4 megapixels (MP). This ‘beyond-HD’ image transmits double the volume of information compared to 2 MP models. In addition, the camera can provide full-colour images at light levels as low as 0.0005 Lux. This paves the way for the possibility of facial recognition, even in dim light, due to its powerful imaging ability and beyond-HD resolution.
The new DarkFighterX camera’s zoom has been increased to 35x, which can help in identifying even a one-metre-long object from the distance of 260 metre, at a 250 pixels resolution, which is sufficient to clearly observe the object.
Provided with an optical zoom of 16x, the new camera also comes up with an automatic wiper to ensure better image quality even on rainy days. This feature is protected by a rain-detecting sensor on the head of surface.
