Trend Micro Inc., a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, and Moxa Inc., a leader in providing industrial communications and networking, have signed a letter of intent for establishing a joint-venture (JV) corporation – TXOne Networks. The major focus of the JV will be on security requirements that are present in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments, such as smart city, smart manufacturing, smart energy, etc.
Trend Micro has identified early on the possible challenges that are faced by IIoT stakeholders. The company has been working on various fronts in order to secure the whole ecosystem, from device to data center. Moxa has expertise in industrial networking and protocol. TXOne Networks will combine the strengths of both companies and brings solutions to the increasing needs of security in industrial industry.

The JV will develop endpoint agents, security gateways and network segmentation to control, secure and provide visibility of operational technology and equipment. Apart from investing funds, intellectual capital and dedicated employees, both companies lend complementary channel expertise. Moxa will bring strength of its OT channel partners whereas Trend Micro will bring an IT channel partner strength and collectively these will reinforce the business model and geographic territory targets.
