HID Origo platform embeds cloud connections and IoT functionality as extensions of application into mobile devices, HID’s controllers and readers
HID Global, a global leader in trusted identity solutions, announced the launch of its cloud platform – HID Origo that unlocks new opportunities for the partners to create more intuitive and seamless workplace experiences.
The platform integrates HID’s technologies for mobile IDs and expansive access control architecture to provide physical security and a comprehensive range of building applications, services and use cases of Internet of Things (IoT) through a unified cloud experience.
Increases partner capabilities
Commenting on the development, Hilding Arrehed, Vice President of Cloud Services, Physical Access Control, HID Global, said, “HID Origo lays the foundation for a broad ecosystem of cloud-based access control technologies, products, services and business models that will accelerate workplace innovation. It dramatically increases our partners’ capabilities to create more connected and seamless building experiences for end users.”
“The platform will remove integration barriers between access control systems and smart building applications, and we will continue to expand its value with capabilities that further improve how people securely move through a facility and interact with its services,” Arrehed added.
The latest platform offers an application-based innovation model that brings a complete suite of integration, enablement, developer tools and services designed to simplify how partners and the rising community of new resellers and developers bring access control solutions to market.
The new platform, rather than making the complete solutions be created and enabled one site or customer at a time, will make it possible to develop new applications and integrated solutions for the company’s entire installed base of millions of access control system and devices.
The new platform by HID embeds cloud connections and IoT functionality as extensions of application into mobile devices, HID’s controllers and readers. It also provides developers direct access to this hardware through HID Origo application programming interfaces (APIs) and software developer kits (SDK), already verified via HID’s mobile access solution.
In addition, HID Origo allows data analytics to be utilsed for new capabilities such as remote reader configuration, intent detection and predictive access control system maintenance for smooth and personalised experience at workplace.
